No offense, but I wouldn’t plan a trip to Myrtle Beach…too crowded and commercial for me. State tourism departments are usually a good place to start with in terms of getting travel information though – they’ll usually send you free travel guides and vacation planners.
Where to go on a family beach vacation? My family wants to take a beach vacation this summer but can’t really think of any good ideas. Check out the Outer Banks (OBX) or Myrtle Beach area. Personally I love going to Hilton Head, NC it’s a great beach town and there are great places to golf. My family and I go down every year. It’s def one of those places where you can bring your family and not worry about the party scene. Just some nice r & r.
If you have children try Florida. It has Daytona, Cocoa Beach, and New Smyrna around the Central Florida Areas all within about an hour of each other. There are great attractions for the kids and family oriented things to do.things
What fun stuff can I do with the kids on a Laguna Beach vacation? Would someone in the Laguna Beach area give us some ideas for things to do with 17 and 18 year old teens? We’re planning on visiting Venice Beach (been there, loved it), Universal Studios and a few other beaches during the days, but aren’t sure what would be fun for us at night. Downtown Laguna is fun to window shop, lots of art galleries and other shops that are too expensive for most people. Visiting The Montage Resort is always fun and absolutely gorgeous! Fashion Island shopping center (newport beach) is a great place to shop and hang out as well as Main Street Huntington Beach. Knotts Berry Farm is a fun amusement park that is pretty cheap and you can usually get coupons or get ‘buy on get one free’ tickets if you bring a can of coke. Wild Rivers is a good water park to go to as well. Have fun!

Laguna Beach? It isn’t at all like what your teens saw on that stupid MTV television program. Laguna Beach is full of the Arts and Crafts crowd (some of which can be a little “strange”), and lots of very wealthy old people. Other than the beach, and window shopping at all the craft stores there really isn’t much for teens to do. they would quickly get bored. Both you and your teens would probably enjoy Huntington Beach a whole lot more. It has more fun things for teens to do, and lots of quaint shops and eateries for you to enjoy.

Hawaii. I went there many years ago and used an agency called Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays. It was actually cheaper than if I had booked the plane fare myself and found a hotel myself. Many ppl go there for honeymoons (Americans, Australians, Japanese, Europeans, etc.). It’s part of America, but a unique place at the same time.
Bangkok is could be ideal. It is about 600,000 rooms too much therefore you can really negotiate for a cheap price. Food is cheap and it’s also a shopping destination fr both authentic and fake products.

I think the ocean is a bit further away than 4 hours. Check into Sandusky, OH. May be your best bet for things to do and somewhat of a beach. When you’re ready for the real beach experience, come on down to NC!
