Piper Plane was founded in initially by Taylors Brothers Plane in 1927. Because of the death of one of the brothers and then eventual bankruptcy, the investments were gotten by William Piper and ultimately the company was renamed in 1937. The business was named Piper Airplane Corporation after moving to Pennsylvania. In 1955 Piper moved his operation to Vero Beach Municipal Airport to have a much larger area for manufacturing. The business began manufacture of the J-3 Cub, which was intended for flight instruction. It turned into one of the most well-liked light aircraft ever before manufactured and has most inexpensive. Piper came up with this type plane to promote an aviation pastime in others. Today, bush pilots and the recreational aviators continue to use the up-graded edition of the Cub. The L-4 version was utilized mainly by the U.S. military throughout WWII and Korean War.

During the years to come, Piper Plane developed and produced other types of airplane, one of the aircraft being the Cherokee. This was the first airplane that Piper was permitted to produce in Florida. In 1974, The Piper Warrior took flight as an improved variation of the Cherokee. With its glass cockpit, semi tapered wing and stretched body, flight training took on new meaning. It makes a great aircraft for sale.

In response to the brand-new FAA Light Sport Airplane category, Piper released the SportCruiser LSA airplane. Adhering to the new classification, the SportCruiser is a two-seat plane that comes under the 1320 pound weight limit. The SportCruiser is constructed in the Czech Republic and outfitted with either a 100 hp (75 kW) Rotax 912ULS or 120 hp (89 kW) Jabiru 3300 engine.

Piper built the Malibu with the small business owner in mind. The Malibu set new speed records for directions between Seattle to New York set November 23, 1987 at 259.27 mph. The Malibu uses a Teledyne Continental Motors TSIO-520BE engine by having 310 hp. This outcomes in an plane suitable for fast cross country forays with reasonable fuel consumption.

Am I able to take flying lessons? I am 15 and I am very interested in airplanes. I Especially like the smaller aircrafts. Maybe the Piper Arrow PA28R model or something like that. I would like to know if I am able to take flying lessons. I don’t want a plane now, but when I get older, I will want one, and I really want to have experience prior to the buy when I get about 18 or 20. I would like to know if I am eligible to take flying lessons in a small aircraft. I don;’t want to fly the big ones, just a small one. It would be for entertainment for myself and my family if they want to ride. How old do you have to be to take flying lessons?

  • mhmd says:

Yes you can start learning at 15. You should check out the Civil Air Patrol http://www.gocivilairpatrol.com

At your age I suggest you join your local Air Cadet Corps. That way you can start learning right away. Depending where you are you might be old enough to begin flying training, it varies from one country to another but usually it at age 16. You have time to study the manuals. The PA28R has a retractable undercarriage and is classed as an advanced aircraft type. You’re initial training will be on an aircraft with a fixed undercarriage. You could begin on a basic PA28-161 Warrior, It’s easy to upgrade at a later stage. You will need dedication and a willingness to devote the time to study but it’s worth it. Good luck. Ian M

you would be better off looking at ultralight planes or at the sport planes. check out http://www.freedomfield.com if you are unfamiliar with ultralights.

  • From 25-30k you most likely will not find anything. Even if you do, I suggest you check the aircraft thoroughly, for any damages. Even the slightest problems could lead to major disaster. Also check any legal issues with the airplane. If you want to get a good and well known aircraft, I suggest you raise your budget to 55k or above. For this price range, you would get a well maintained 1970′s monoplane. I still suggest you look for any damages as the aircrafts are old. Good luck finding your aircraft!

  • as a general rule, in your price range, there isn’t any. sure people will say if you shop around, if you buy an old one, if you know how to haggle etc. but thats all BS. if its old, it is likely to present problems like airframe stress, engine problems, transponder upgrade etc. in the near future, thus costing you way more than 35k. (and i’ll bet its missing some maintenance logs) if its okay new, but they’re selling it cheap, maybe its gone through accidents, or is not legal or some other serious problem. (again, ask for all the documentation) if its new, well, you won’t find one for 35k, or you will but it will be an old design, flawed or low performance, unpopular and impossible to find parts for. so sorry to burst your bubble mate, best keep saving up and come back on YA in a few years asking this : what is an inexpensive airplane to buy? Can I get one for 250k to 1 million? (gotta factor in inflation and fuel costs or that new high tech hybrid engine….)

There are plenty of options, from Piper Colts, Pacers, Tri-Pacers, Cherokee 140′s to Cessna 140′s, 150/152′s, 170′s and 175′s even. You can get a single seat Pitts in this price range easily as well as a huge variety of homebuilt or experimental aircraft. Most are obviously older aircraft but many are in great condition. Check out barnstormers.com and have fun!

  • Let’s see…I would take out the Aretha Franklin album solely because it does not really fit in with the rest of the albums listed. “I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You” is still an iconic album, but in its place I would put ‘Something Else by the Kinks.’ Not a bad song on that album. Da Capo by Love?? The second half of the album is cool, but not great by any means. Why not ‘Forever Changes’(by the same group for those not in the know) which is one of the greatest albums of all time let alone 1967.

I got my instrument in a multi. Can I use its privileges in a single? I got my airman certificates/ratings in the following order: 1) Private Pilot ASEL (in a Cessna C172SP Nav III Skyhawk) 2) AMEL (to Private Pilot PTS in a Piper PA44 Seminole) 3) Instrument Airplane (All Instrument training was done in a Diamond DA42L Twinstar, a light twin) At current time, am I allowed to exercise the privileges of my instrument airplane rating in a single-engine aircraft such as a C172SP Nav III or do I need to go through a proficiency check of sorts for it? Thanks in advance to all who are able to advise =). CORRECTION: For the first half of my instrument training, I was trained in a PA44 and then transitioned into a DA42L, which was the aircraft that I passed my checkride in =).

  • Rob G says:

Yes. The rating is “Instrument Airplane”, not “Instrument Airplane Multi-Engine Land”. I know lots of pilots that got their instrument ratings in a twin. The only stipulation is that if you were to have gotten it in a single that in order to use it in a twin, you’d have to demonstrate a single-engine ILS approach to an examiner, but that doesn’t apply in your situation. Now of course, being legal does not always mean you are safe. If you feel like you need a few hours with a CFI, in that C172, in order to be a safe then do so. Single pilot IFR is hard especially as a new instrument pilot. Make sure you are 100% comfortable with the plane you will be flying.

Short answer yes, but a check out ride when making the transition is always a good idea.

  • What is the slowest speed of a Piper Seminole Airplane (twin engines)? Same question as above. Also: say that that same plane was going it’s slowest speed and was very close to the ground (ie: a flood-plain for the ‘ground’) because there wasn’t a place to land other than this floodplain. If you were to jump, would you survive?

  • No, you won’t survive.

  • mrhelio says:

The Piper Seminole is based on the Piper Arrow airframe with two engines and it is powered by the Lycoming IO-360 (180 HP) and there are minimum speeds in all categories. First with both turning there is minimum control with the airplane clean, gear down and flaps down. Now you have single-engine operation at minimum speeds in all categories mentioned above. Go look at the POH ( pilots operating handbook) and there will be your answers. If you think that jumping from a flying airplane is a smart thing to do, I suggest you find another occupation.
